• Nov 24, 2019 · Getting nearer the lake mosquitoes became a problem for the first time on the trip. After what seemed like a long hike I finally arrived at the lake and began looking for a campsite. Further on down the lake is a junction which heads up to Imogene Lake, and many other in the adjacent basin.
    • Your hike to Imogene Lake begins with a five-mile trek from the Lower Trailhead to Hell Roaring Lake (the hike from the Upper Trailhead is two miles). Once you reach the shore, you’ll branch off to the left onto Trail 092, which takes you along the southern end of the lake. This is where the path starts to become difficult.

    • Hike to Alice Lake from Tin Cup Trailhead at Pettit Lake Review It is one of the most beautiful sites in the Sawtooth Mountains. I can't say which place is the most beautiful because each year I think I have found a new spot that is more beautiful than the ones before.
    • The next day, our relax day, we hiked up to the unnamed peak I pointed out earlier. You can do it from the pass (drop your packs first), or what we did was hike back up all those switchbacks from Imogene Lake. From the lake to the peak was only 2 miles one way and about 1300 ft gain.

    • May 01, 2014 · Edna Lake is one lake that holds monster fish, I'm only saying this because its a 15 mile hike back in there either way you go. Last year when we hiked the Sawtooths we day hiked to Edna Lake and the whole group saw seventeen inch cuttys and twenty inch rainbows. When we camped there this year we saw two rainbows that had to be pushing two feet.

Located around mile 17, Imogene is a backpacking dream come true.     • Aug 15, 2009 · Hiking to Hell Roaring Lake was pretty uneventful, but we were setting a great pace to make it to Hell Roaring Lake before noon. Once at Hell Roaring Lake, we came across a decision. Either go right, which would lead to Clarice Lake below the Finger, or go left which would keep us on the trail to Imogene.
    • Near to the inlet of the lake, the trail splits off from Alice Lake - Redfish Lake Trail #092 to skirt the north side of the lake. If the water level is low, late summer, you can hike out onto what was an island in spring. Slightly longer and rougher than the southern route, this option is sure to be worth it.

    • May 09, 2019 · The crystal clear, blue waters combined with sheer rock cliffs and remnants of ice caps leftover from winter, lined with lodgepole pine make this lake well worth staying a night. Hiking reminder: it is important to recognize that this trail is not well marked or clearly identified and may be best suited for experienced backcountry hikers.
